Prairie Dandelion Agoceris cuspidata
In early spring, particularly just following a prairie burn, this plant can be seen in its full dandelion-like splendor. The flower is actually a bit larger than the common dandelion, and not all that similar upon close inspection. It blooms for a short time, the head turns to fluff, and in early June it withers, not to be seen again until the following May.
