Prairie Plains Resource Institute

Prairie Plains Resource Institute has been celebrating the land and its people since 1980! A nonprofit educational land trust, we’re dedicated to creating opportunities on the land for people of all ages. We offer a full calendar of events on our seven Nebraska prairie preserves, consultation for landowners and agencies regarding high-diversity prairie restoration, an award-winning nature day camp for elementary students and much, much more.

Prairie Plains Fun Run

The Fun Run on June 3rd was a success! 60 runners and walkers enjoyed a beautiful morning on Gjerloff Prairie. Check out photos of the event here.

Youth Naturalist Program

Students in grades 7-11 are invited to attend the Youth Naturalist Program June 19 - 23! An extension of our amazing SOAR program, YNP provides older students with in-depth opportunities to learn more about how to care for, protect and restore Nebraska's ecosystems.  Learn more about the program, download an application form and find out about scholarship opportunities. Deadline for application is May 1, 2017.

Time to SOAR!

3rd through 6th grade students are invited to register for our award-winning summer nature day camp, SOAR. The camp is offered July 10-14 and July 17-21, 2017. Download a registration form here, and get ready to get wet and muddy learning about the Platte River and other outdoor environments in the area.
